Principal's
Welcome
Welcome to Strabane Academy
It was Aristotle who said that, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence is not an act, but a habit.”
Within these pages we have tried to capture something of the spirit of school life and convey the sense of pride we feel in being part of this community. As you view our website, look out for the many opportunities that we provide which help students develop positive habits for life.
It may be how we extend learning beyond the classroom; through sports, Languages, Duke of Edinburgh, opportunities to travel abroad, practical life skills such as wood working and the culinary arts, work-based learning, leadership opportunities and the school council all of these are enriching on many levels.

Taking on a 5K course early on a weekend morning is no small feat, especially given the warm conditions which made the challenge even more demanding. Each of you should be incredibly proud of your achievement. Whether you ran, jogged, or walked, your commitment to health, fitness, and community participation shines through.
A special congratulations goes to Jason O’N and Matthew McB in Year 8. Earlier this week, Jason set himself the ambitious goal of completing the 5K run in 21 minutes—but pushed himself even further to cross the finish line in a massively impressive time of 20:38, coming 4th overall.
Matthew McB followed closely with a stellar time and new personal best of 21:33, crossing the finish line in 6th place overall. Matthew’s excellent performance is a testament to his consistent effort and hard work.
Well done, Jason and Matthew! 👏🏻
Special thanks go to the Parkrun volunteers, pacers, and supporters who helped make the event such a success. Your encouragement and enthusiasm added to the uplifting atmosphere of the day.
Once again, well done to all who took part. Keep moving, stay motivated, and we look forward to seeing you back at Run Club after the Easter break on Wednesday afternoon’s from 3:30 - 4:30pm. 🏃♀️🏃🤩🎉🥳
