Year 9 had a brilliant 2nd trip along with St Columba's College in Stranolar. Students visited the Guildhall and Tower Museum where they had the opportunity to learn about the history of the Guildhall, become councillors and also hear about the history of Derry - Londonderry as part of the tour of the Tower Museum. The Derry Girl exhibition was a real hit also. They finished it off with a well deserved trip to the bowling alley. A great day had by all. Thanks to St Columba's for being such a great partner school and well done to all of the students. Merry Christmas 🎄🌟

Amy Magee and Dylan McGlynn left Strabane Academy in 2019, having first met in first year on Liskey Road – seated together thanks to alphabetical order. That early connection marked the beginning of a journey that has led them to a shared career path.
This week, Amy and Dylan proudly graduated from the University of Manchester, both achieving a Postgraduate Certificate in Education after deciding to pursue careers as primary school teachers.
They credit much of their success to the support and encouragement they received during their time at Strabane Academy. The pair are especially grateful to the dedicated staff who challenged them to achieve their best, helping to shape their confidence and love of learning.
A special mention goes to Miss Walker, their English teacher, who encouraged creativity and independence in learning. Rather than focusing solely on traditional essays, she allowed them to explore learning in fun and engaging ways — an approach that left a lasting impact.
Amy and Dylan are deeply thankful to everyone at Strabane Academy and hope to inspire and support future generations of pupils in the same way they were inspired during their own school years.
